Today in the lesson we looked at a selection of songs and started to discuss which songs our group thought were suitable for the final task. The choices included:
1)Release me
2)Lost
3)Show me
4)Just because
5)My delirium
6)Its tricky
7)Unaware
8)Brazil
9)She's not me
10)Misfit
Our group were instantly drawn to "Release me"; an upbeat pop song. However this song would be the most difficult to use as it would require dancers, lights and a strong artist to carry the powerful song. Despite our excitement at the prospect of doing such a big song our group did feel slightly daunted as we knew the song would require extensive planning and high skill in order to pull off such a video.
We then listened to 'Lost' which was less extravagant and probably more appropriate than 'Release me' due to our limited equipment and available budget. Whilst hearing the song, I had an idea of a teenage girl on the guitar singing whilst being surrounded by dancers doing contemporary dance. The emotional lyrics of the song would also pave the way for a strong narrative which would run throughout.
Other songs which we considered were 'Unaware', similar to 'Lost' this song would be easier to execute as it simply requires a female vocalist rather than a band. The video could also have a strong narrative throughout. We discussed the idea of showing two peoples days, but during that day their paths cross and ultimately their lives are changed for ever.

We eventually reached a unanimous decision and chose the song Lost.
