(30/10/2015)
Unfortunately we reviewed the footage of shoot day 2 with the dancers and we realised that the quality of the footage was really poor due to poor lighting and an unsuitable location. Therefore we may have to reshoot the dance, but using a different location.
Shoot Day 3 Review (27/10/15)
We completed our third shoot today. We filmed at Chloe's house as we wanted to shoot Isla in a bedroom setting to show her moping and looking depressed post break-up. Holly changed into a baggy jumper and tracksuit bottoms and we shot her in various angles lying on the bed surrounded by tissues as if she had just been crying. We also shot close-ups of her performing the song.
She then changed outfits and we filmed outside in Chloe's back-garden. We created a cafe setting and had Holly sit at the table, drink tea and read her book. When Josh came later we then did a similar shot but with him sitting with Holly at the table, we thought we could fade between the two shots in the editing process to emphasis Holly's loneliness after the break up. We also utilized the nice weather and did a short photo shoot with Holly outside which we can use for the Digipak.
We then moved locations and went to Chloe's Grandmothers flat as she has a balcony outside which we thought would be effective to film on. Paul brought his guitar with him so we filmed some shots of Holly singing with the guitar.
By the time Josh arrived, the sun was beginning to set so we went to the park and filmed some intimate shots of Holly and Josh together pre break up. When it got dark we went back to Chloe's house and shot outside in her garden, we used a candle for lighting which created a romantic setting and a sense of intimacy. It was a long day, but I am really happy with the footage and I am excited to review it.

Shoot day 2: Dancers (23/10/2015)
We completed our second shoot today. Unfortunately things didn't go completely according to plan as we ideally wanted to utilize the lights in Room K, however due to unforeseen circumstances we couldn't so we had to settle with natural lighting. In terms of costumes Roisin wore a leotard and checked shirt, to represent Isla's boyfriend, and I wore a leotard and skirt to represent Isla.
We filmed the routine using 2 different cameras and started by filming the whole routine from a variety of different angles. Chloe and Ana then filmed close-up shots of the torso, feet, face and arms. We also filmed shots where we simply danced past the camera which we thought we could use for cut-away's in the video.
Before we started filming we also filmed an interview with Paul and I, where we talked about the choreography process and the idea behind the dance. We thought we could use this for the website.

Shoot day 1 evaluation (12/10/15)
Over the weekend we successfully completed our first shoot day and I am very pleased with the outcome.
Our group met at Knightsbridge Station at 10:30 to ensure we avoided the busy period at the Serpentine Pavillion. Walking to the Pavillion gave sufficient time for Josh and Holly to meet and for us to brief them on what we hoped to achieve for the day. Despite it being relatively busy when we arrived, we shot some interesting footage, utilising the colours and uniqueness of the location. Our group worked well together and we delegated certain tasks to individuals which allowed us to film in the most efficient way possible. At the Pavillion we filmed both the performance elements of the video and the pre-breakup parts. We also ended up taking loads of photos which we thought we could use for the Digipak and Website.

We then went to Hyde Park and filmed an array of couple shots. Josh and Holly had natural chemistry and appeared to be a genuine couple which I believe came across on the film. Overall the day went relatively smoothly and we had wrapped by approximately 3pm. I am excited to see the footage and start the editing process!

Shoot dates (08/10/15)
Planning shoot dates
Saturday 10th October: Filming at the Serpentine Pavillion (10am-4pm)
Filming with Holly and Josh
Equipment/props- camera, tripod, selection of clothes, make-up, microphone, reflective surface
Weather forecast- Luckily it is not scheduled to be raining on Saturday so hopefully we can get some nice shots with good lighting.
Final casting (08/10/15)
Today I finalised who will be performing in the video. I attend dance lessons so have managed to get my friend from dancing,Roisin Lopemen, to perform in the video. She is sixteen and attends the Brit school. She has experience performing and is a talented dancer so will be an effective asset to the video. I will also be performing along side her as I frequently see her so will be able to choreograph a duet to the song with her.
Paul has also managed to get his friend Josh Ling to be Isla's ex boyfriend in the video. He goes to the same sixth form so will be easily accessible and is also a film studies student, so understands the commitment needed to film a music video. This makes him a reliable candidate for the role.

Location Research
Mitcham common
One of the locations for our music video needs to appear rural. When thinking of possibilities I considered Mitcham common as it has a lot of green fields and long grass which would be effective to film in. It is also local to us which makes it easy to get to.
Affogato
In the first shot Isla will be in a café, Affogato is a local to us and has given us permission to film so this would be an appropriate location.
Sepertine pavilion
Ana suggested filming some shots in the Serpentine pavilion, this is an art exhibition and will be really effective due to the interesting colours and shapes. We could use this location for the shots when Isla is lip syncing to the music.
Chloe's house
In the video we need to get a real sense of the couples close, intimate relationship. Therefore we decided to film at Chloe's house as this enables us to film them in an easy going environment; watching films and relaxing in bed etc. Chloe also has a large window in her bedroom and when combined with natural, romantic light we can film some interesting shots. She also has a flat roof which we could utilise as this would create a romantic atmosphere for the couple.
Room k
We need a location for our dancers to dance in so I suggested room K at school. I have used this room for various drama performances so I will hopefully be able to get permission to film there. There are rigged lights which we can operate in order to create a silhouettes and interesting shadows of the dancers.

Planning narrative (02/10/15)
In todays lesson we discussed the narrative of the video. The basic idea is to portray the aftermath of Isla's breakup with her boyfriend.
-The first shot will show her sitting at a table looking at photos of her past relationship. As she stirs her tea and reminisces, the shot fades into various flashbacks of the happier times of her relationship.
-These shots include the couple running in a park, holding hands, laughing and being intimate.
-"In my comfortable years", Isla and boyfriend lying in bed, invisible dissolve edit so boyfriend leaves the shot.
-Possible motif of a necklace?
-The video will dip in and out of the past and present, the present shots will be more bleak and show her looking depressed, saddened by the breakup.
-Interpretative/ballet dancers show the couple's emotions through the dance.
-Elements of performance will feature of Isla singing and playing the guitar.

Music Video Analysis
The music video's I have looked at show the codes and conventions of the indie/alternative genre. This has enabled me to decide that my music video will follow the conventions of the indie genre. This is due to the narrative story in the video being about heartbreak which will create a somber atmosphere, this mood is prominent within the genre. Isla Gold will not appear glamorous in the video and will instead appear alternative through her clothing and the secluded locations she is filmed in. We need to ensure to include frequent close-ups of Isla in order to fulfill the demands of the record label, as well considering her unique selling point.
